NADH – an essential coenzyme in every cell
Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide – the active form of vitamin B3
NADH is the biologically active form of niacin (vitamin B3). It functions as a coenzyme in metabolism and is therefore also known as coenzyme 1. Organs that generate large amounts of energy in their mitochondria — such as the heart, brain, and muscles — contain particularly high levels of NADH.
