Age-in-form® Longevity – Spermidine and Other Micronutrients
Living as long as possible while staying young, healthy, and vital – this is probably a dream humans have had since the beginning of time. Thanks to modern science, reality is gradually coming closer to this ideal. Micronutrient medicine plays an important role in this, with spermidine being particularly interesting to researchers. Learn about our supplements with spermidine here and discover what spermidine is and in which foods it can be found.

Longevity: Healthy Aging with an Adapted Lifestyle
Longevity is not just about living longer – it’s primarily about aging healthily. The regulation of our genes and the aging processes are largely influenced by lifestyle choices. These include a conscious diet, regular exercise, sufficient sleep, social connections, and good stress management.
A conscious diet provides essential micronutrients for cell health. Zinc, in particular, is important for normal DNA synthesis and cell division.
Substances being researched in relation to longevity also include:
- Spermidine
- Nicotinamide Riboside and the coenzyme NAD+
- Alpha-Ketoglutarate
- Betaine
- Pyrroloquinoline Quinone (PQQ)
- Various plant compounds like Quercetin
Spermidine – What Is It?
Spermidine is a natural compound found in all living cells. The body’s own spermidine plays an important role in cell metabolism and is crucial for growth processes and cell division.
Additionally, spermidine is found in foods, including wheat germ, oats, and aged cheeses like Parmesan and Cheddar. Wheat germ contains the highest levels of spermidine, with around 22 to 30 milligrams per 100 grams. Cheddar cheese provides about 20 milligrams of spermidine per 100 grams.
Spermidine: Its Role in Longevity?
What makes spermidine particularly interesting is its role in autophagy – a natural process in the body where damaged cell components are recycled. Scientists are researching how spermidine influences this "self-cleaning" process and how it supports cellular function. The focus is on whether this process can slow down aging.
However, as we age, the spermidine levels in our bodies decrease. Therefore, the intake of spermidine through food may become increasingly important.
