Metafolin^® Folic acid – directly available

In order for the body to use folic acid, it must be activated. However, about half of the population has a disrupted enzyme necessary for this conversion, due to a genetic mutation. This can lead to a deficiency in the long term, despite adequate intake of folic acid.

Metafolin^® (5-Methyltetrahydrofolat oder 5-MTHF) is the active form of folic acid. The body can use it despite the genetic defect, which allows the impaired enzyme to be bypassed. This ensures the supply.
